How To Enter online raffle

1. Visit www.ksboardriders.com/products/marama-fundraiser  

2. Enter your details and amount you wish to donate PHP 500, 1,000, 5,000, 30,000. Each Donation gives you a raffle ticket. Donate as much as you want as many times as you want. PHP 30,000 donations will all receive a free t-shirt and a 1 on 1 lesson with Marama Tokong. 

3. The winner of the online raffle will be released at the Harana finale event. 

4. All prizes will need to be picked up in Siargao Island. All donations will be recorded and a list of donations will be released for transparency. At the end of the raffle, all the money will be given to Marama for him to use and spend at his own discretion for travel, accommodation and expenses.

John Mark “Marama” Tokong is a local surfer from Siargao island Philippines. He is currently competing in the WSL Qualifying Series (QS) Asia tour. He is currently ranked 7th and is aiming for a top five position to enter the Challenger Series. The Challenger Series is a tour comprising the best surfers across the globe, and Marama competed in the CS in 2023, the first ever Filipino surfer to do so.

To make it to the challenger series again, he needs a top five ranking on completing the QS tour. The QS tour includes a series of events across Asia and Australia. Some of the Qualifying Series for Asia is co-sanctioned with the Australian league. This means that Australian and Asian surfers compete against each other, but they are ranked separately depending on their region. This also means that some QS events are held in Australia.

Tour Dates so far: 

We estimate that the tour will cost around PHP 700,000. This includes accommodation, flights, food and other essentials. He currently doesn’t have any official government support, so that means we need to fundraise so that Marama can represent the Philippines in the QS tour.

Fundraising 

To raise funds, we are holding a raffle for donators, where lucky winners can win a selection of amazing prizes kindly donated by Marama’s sponsors, including a Major Gift Pack donated by Vissla and Kudo Surf. 

We are starting the campaign on August 9th at Barbosa Siargao and announcing the mechanics of the raffle for people to donate in Siargao and online. The winner will be drawn and announced on August 24th. We will do additional viewings on August 10, 17 and 24th at Harana Surf Resort.

Agihan: The Path to Qualification

To help bring exposure to the fundraiser we will use a film “Agihan - the road to Qualification” by Gabriel Batallones. This film will be premiered on August 9th at Barbosa Siargao and will also be used to launch he fundraiser, and a center piece for other fundraising events over the coming weeks.
