Siargao’s Marama Tokong & Philmar Alipayo Become the New Faces of Vissla Philippines

A brand that highlights creativity, sustainability, and innovation, Vissla has been one of the names to look up to within the professional surfing industry. This time around, they’re tapping our very own Marama Tokong and Philmar Alipayo to be the new faces of the brand — carrying with them the brand’s philosophy and values, while also promoting Philippine surfing to the forefront.

Philmar “Chepoxz” Alipayo and John Mark “Marama” Tokong played a huge role in helping with relief during last year’s Super Typhoon Rai/Odette. They have both been great role models in the community and have been chosen to spearhead Vissla’s operations in the Philippines, starting in their hometown of Cloud 9, Siargao island.

This marks a great milestone for PH surfing, especially with these two legends leading this partnership — a brand run by surfers, for surfers. 

With Vissla highlighting the importance of minimizing their environmental impact in order to “protect the oceans and waves that raised us,” we couldn’t think of two better surfers to take on the job than Marama and Chepoxz. Both of them were born and raised on the waves of Siargao and have led the pack that pushed the level of Philippine surfing to an international level, while also emphasizing the importance of caring for the ocean for generations to come.

Vissla wishes them the best of luck for the upcoming San Miguel Siargao International Surfing Cup, sanctioned by the WSL from October 15 - 21, and for the official launch of this partnership in Siargao.
